Welcome to Eatnote. By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

Eatnote is a personal food memory app that lets you track your meals, share with family, and discover what friends are eating.

Eligibility

• You must be 13 years or older to use Eatnote
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You may only have one personal account
• If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms

Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must not share your login credentials with others
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Post hate speech, harassment, bullying, or threats
• Share spam, advertisements, or commercial solicitations
• Upload illegal, obscene, or harmful content
• Impersonate other people or entities
• Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to circumvent security features
• Scrape, crawl, or collect data from our service
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

Your Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you upload to Eatnote, including photos, videos, and text.

License to Eatnote

By uploading content, you grant Eatnote a license to store, display, and distribute your content according to your visibility settings (Private, Family, or Public).

Your Responsibility

• You are responsible for the content you post
• You must have the right to share any content you upload
• You must not post content that infringes others' rights

Content Removal

We may remove content that violates these Terms or is reported by other users. We will notify you if we remove your content.

Family Features

• Family groups require consent from all adult members
• Parents or guardians are responsible for minor family members
• Family data is visible only to group members
• You may leave a family group at any time
• Family admins can remove members from their groups

AI Features

Eatnote includes AI-powered features including chat, voice logging, and recommendations.

• AI responses are for informational purposes only
• AI is NOT a substitute for medical, nutritional, or professional advice
• AI may make errors - always verify important information
• Do not rely on AI for allergy or dietary decisions without verification

Intellectual Property

• The Eatnote name, logo, and app design are our property
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our app or branding
• You may not use our trademarks without written permission
• User-generated content remains the property of its creators

Termination

By Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in harmful behavior, or remain inactive for extended periods. We will provide notice when possible.

By You

You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Privacy > Delete All My Data. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our servers.

Disclaimers

EATNOTE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not responsible for data loss (though we take precautions)
• We are not responsible for content posted by other users
• We do not verify the accuracy of restaurant information
• AI features may contain errors or inaccuracies

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (if any)
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not liable for lost profits, data, or opportunities
• Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes:

• We will notify you through the app or by email
• We will update the "Last Updated" date
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of California.
